World Mental Health Day 2024
World Mental Health Day - 10 October 2024
This year Mental Health Day is promoting mental health in the workplace.
A supportive work environment is known to foster good mental health whereas poor conditions can reduce job satisfaction and productivity. At Hydrofix, we understand that mental health is as important as physical health and are on a continuous journey of improvement, taking time to discuss things and provide support to our team as much as possible.
We are a team and feel that simplicity is key:
- Our policies are effective and simple – we are a close-knit team and have a culture of open dialog and communication. It is always ok to ask for help.
- We are built on strong working relationships, and all have a sense of belonging.
- As a small team of long-standing colleagues and friends, we understand each other and understand that everyone copes with stress differently.
- We encourage a strong work-life balance. Our careers are important, but they do should not come at the expense of other parts of our lives.
- We support each other – the company has a duty of care to its employees, but we work individually to look after one another also.
- We are part of a larger business with a culture of mindfulness, where help outside our office is also available.
- We are committed to openly discussing issues and actively supporting mental and physical health – its an ongoing process and we are dedicated to learning, adapting and improving our approach. By maintaining open dialogues, implementing practical strategies, and encouraging personal responsibility, we aim to create a workplace where every team member can thrive both professionally and personally.
As part of RSK Group, we have access to the group ‘Wellbeing Hub’ which provides a wide range of resources, support and education, and also gives access to our Mental Health First Aiders across the business who are trained to listen and signpost to support.
The RSK Wellbeing Stress Resource pack can be found here for memebers of RSK Group.
